Northwest Arkansas hosted the 7th annual International Mountain Bicycling Association World Summit in November of 2016, and Rogers was the place to be for great trails, an incredible bike park, and other Summit fun. Whether you’re in town for a big event, or here to hit the mountain bike trails with the family or crew, there’s plenty to see and do on and off your bike.

Don’t miss The Railyard, a world-class bike park. Its signature piece is a full-scale rail car set on real railroad tracks that bikers ride through. This dirt jump bike park features wall rides, whale tales, and concrete lips. The park is designed to accommodate riders of all different skill levels, beginner to expert, and different types of bicycles, from striders to full suspension bikes to dirt jumpers to BMX. It is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and has lights, a pavilion, restrooms, water fountains, a bike wash station, observation decks, a dog park, and a large parking lot.

From here, you can hop on a track that leads to more trails around the recently renovated and re-opened Lake Atalanta. There are 10 miles of hiking trails and off-road mountain biking trails for all skill levels. A paved trail circles the lake. A boardwalk stretches out over the water with “bump out” areas for fishing and the renovated stream is great for cooling off. Playground structures offer plenty of adventure while a serenity garden offers, well, serenity.

About 15 minutes from downtown, Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area is a 12,000-plus natural park with limited development, a visitor center with interactive exhibits, a wildlife viewing area, and educational activities. Trails include Pigeon Roost near Beaver Lake, Historic Van Winkle Trail, Shaddox Hollow Nature Trail, Hidden Diversity Multi-Use Trail, Sinking Stream Trail, and stacked loop ADA Ozark Plateau Trail. For more outdoor fun, enjoy Beaver Lake for fishing, boating, and water sports.

If you’re looking for an after-ride refreshment, you’ll find great craft beer at Ozark Beer Co. Its tasting room is open seven days a week. OBC beers are also available throughout Northwest Arkansas on draft and in cans at various restaurants and bars.  New Province Brewing, CORE Brewing Co., and Foster’s Pint and Plate, all with locations in Rogers, also tap their own local craft brews.

Local bakeries, diners, pizzerias, cafés, coffee houses, clubs, restaurants, and eateries are easily accessed from The Railyard and Lake Atalanta trails in downtown Rogers.  This historic downtown with its brick streets features boutiques, salons and spas, a variety of antique stores and upscale markets, art galleries, and a bike and skateboard shop. Attractions include the Frisco Caboose, Daisy Airgun Museum, and Rogers Historical Museum.

More shopping and dining is available at Pinnacle Hills Promenade, Pleasant Crossing, and The Shoppes at Pinnacle Hills. Enjoy local boutiques and restaurants to national brands and chains you know and love.

Fast Lane Entertainment offers bowling, an arcade, laser tag, bumper cars, a play structure, an indoor roller coaster, a laser maze, and more. Next door, Golf Mountain offers all your mini-golf needs. Just down the road is DEFY Rogers HighRise Extreme Air Sports, where you can defy gravity on more than 9,000 square feet of connected, world-class trampolines in an 18,000-square-foot facility.

Also don’t miss War Eagle Cavern on Beaver Lake, which contains unusual domes, rimstone dams, an underground stream, and waterfalls. Take a one-hour tour on an easy walking trail with no stairs or tight places. Then enjoy the park-like setting with short walking trails, scenic views, boat dock. Gemstone panning, Lost in the Woods Maze, unique shopping, picnic and play areas. It’s stroller and pet-friendly and open daily mid-March-Nov.
