Spring Break at Hobbs

Thursday, March 27th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Spring Break at Hobbs: Bird Nerds Tabletop: The annual migration is just beginning which makes it a great time to learn about birdwatching. Visit the education pavilion to borrow a pair of binoculars and go birding on the ADA accessible Ozark Plateau Trail. A 15-minute program will start every half-hour from 9:30 – 11:30 about the birds of Hobbs State Park, birdwatching tips, and how to use apps to make birding easier. Make a recycled bird feeder to take home and let your birding adventure continue. Meet at the Education Pavilion. Come and go as you please. Bring your lunch and enjoy eating at the pavilion.

Spring Break at Hobbs: Critter Crawl Tabletop: Come meet some of the reptile and amphibian animal ambassadors that call the visitor center home. Learn more about their unique biology and why they were selected to become our animal ambassadors. A variety of animal-themed crafts will also be available for you to make. Come and go as you please. A 15-minute program will start every half-hour from 1:30 – 2:30.

Friday, March 28th, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Toadally Awesome Amphibian Tabletop: Some bumpy, some jumpy and even a little slimy, these cold-blooded creatures play an important role in nature and give us clues to the health of

our ecosystem. Interact with live toads, frogs and salamanders, while learning more about each of them. Make an amphibian themed craft to take home as well. Come and go as you please. A 15-minute program will start every half-hour from 1:30 – 2:30.

Saturday, March 29th, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
